1977 Restmod

78 Terra in pretty good shape.  It was an arizona truck for years.  I moved it up to Mn about 10 years ago.  It has never seen the winter.  I drive it sparingly may to october.  It runs.  Has the original 345 engine.  New Holley carb this year.  Corbeau seats and the back has been re done. I just don't use it enough to keep it around.

1974 International Scout

Since 37 years in the family is this Scout 800 that has been converted to a BMW six cylinder turbodiesel with automatic ZF transmission. Originally from San Bernardino California it has never suffered bad weather conditions or being used in the winter. Exceptional original body condition. Before converting it to the reliable and economical BMW turbodiesel I had for 20 years a 530 hp 406 Chevy in it and participated in a lot of 1/8 mile races. The last eight years I've been using it with an intercooled BMW with just 35,000 miles on it.  It works perfectly with the ZF4 HP 22 transmission, has 150 hp on the dyno and being almost 200 kg lighter than the international drivetrain, it convinces with a pleasant driving experience. 1967 Custom P/U

This 1970 International Harvester Scout 800 is finished in two-tone silver and blue over a blue vinyl interior and is equipped with a removable roof, a roof rack, a roll cage, fog lamps, and a digital media receiver. Power is provided by a rebuilt I6 engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

The truck underwent a repaint in Aristocrat-style silver with blue accents under previous ownership. The removable traveltop features sliding side windows and a stainless-steel roof rack and is underpinned by a full roll cage. Other equipment includes “Aristocrat” fender badges, Hella fog lamps, dual mirrors, a rear step bumper, and a ball hitch.

The truck rides on BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires wrapped around 15" rally-style chrome wheels.

The engine underwent a rebuild back in 2016 along with multiple other items getting replaced. 

It was purchased off Bring A Trailer back in 2021 (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-international-harvester-scout-800-aristocrat/) and simply doesn't get used as much as it should, so it's time for the next owner. The web page is still there, so if you reach out, I'm happy to forward it along. I also have numerous recent photos I can provide you with.

1970 Scout 800

This is a one-owner 1978 Scout II, V345 gas engine, 4-speed, 4x4. Purchased new by my dad in 1978, which he gifted to me in 2016. It’s been well maintained in original/highly original condition, with only 117,407 miles on the original engine. Since 2016 it’s had a carburetor rebuild (on the original carburetor), fuel pump replaced, fan clutch replaced, fuel pump gasket and valve cover gaskets replaced, fuel gauge sending unit replaced, a new power steering fluid line, and a new gas throttle cable (the one connecting the accelerator pedal). I also replaced the battery about six months ago. It’s been repainted twice over its lifetime to match the original factory color. 

Rust issues are minimal. It’s had some body work in its history but nothing major—my dad has always been one to get on top of issues before they get serious. It had some rust removed/body work back in the late 1980s the first time it was repainted.  And then some minor work again when repainted in the 2005-2010 timeframe. (See last set of photos in the posting for those areas.)

It spent the first 12 years of its life in Hawaii, and around 1990 was shipped back to the west coast where I used it for a few years in Washington. It was then kept in central Oregon and garaged until 2016, when I acquired it. The interior was re-upholstered a number of years ago to match the original and is still in like-new condition. Other than the first decade or so of its life, it also hasn’t had much off-road use. Mostly driven for commuting and city/highway driving. Thanks for looking!

1968 Scout 800

1979 International Scout II Terra. 4-196 engine. 4 speed manual transmission. No A/C. 49282 original miles. My father bought it used in 1981. I got it 2 years ago and have driven it for 4,500 trouble free miles. Cruises the highway at 65MPH at 3100rpm. Everything on the truck works except the passenger vent window latch has a catch. Has block heater installed (makes cold weather starts easy). OEM gas tank skid plate. Work done over the last 2 years includes: Change all fluids/filters (oil, transfer case, transmission, brake, power steering, coolant, differential), new body bushings, new gaskets for oil pan and differentials, new shocks,  removed floor pan and truck bed rust and coated with rust bullet, body rust around pinch weld areas removed and touched up with with rust bullet/spray paint, new carpet kit, new seat cover (original black vinyl upholstery is in excellent condition), Retro Sound Bluetooth radio with Kicker speakers, fiberglass repair of rear wheel well rust out, new water pump, removed and cleaned gas tank and installed new fuel sender gasket, new fuel lines, new tires including spare, new window tint, new headlights, new spark plugs and spark plug wires, new ignition coil, new muffler, USB/12 volt power sources installed, tachometer installed . Undercoated with Surface Shield lanolin spray.
