Restored 196cc 4 cyl, rust proofed frame, new brakes, 2.5" lift kit

1967 international Scout

This 1975 Scout was my brother's dream project. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly. Now, I just want to see it go to someone who will build the 4X4 he always dreamed of, while helping my mom with the costs of taking care of his affairs. The Scout was running when he started working on it, and it has the 304 engine and all the parts [as far as I know]. It has surface rust, but good bones and a straight body. It needs to be towed, but has great potential. If you are looking for your next great project, call me and come get it.

The Bones to Build Your Dream Scout!

Ready for restoration. All original with 196(ic) 4 cylinder and 3 speed manual. Bucket seats. Typical scout rust. Good frame. Engine spins freely by hand. All original parts are with this vehicle.

Up for sale is a highly sought-after, transitional 1971 International Harvester Scout 800B equipped with the rare, factory Comanche package. This is a legitimate survivor package featuring the original hood and lower body accent striping still visible on the body. I have line ticket info and original owner info, originally purchased at IH Duluth, Mn. The gentleman who purchased it traded his 1970 800a in for this 71 800b comanche, the chassis number is G4450XX making it one of the very last ones built! last known comanche was G445187 which is very very close considering the sequential numbers were shared with all other ih models produced, not just scouts.

MECHANICAL & RECENT UPDATES:
* engine turns over fine when I hooked up battery to check, it sat with clean, correct oil level since 1986
* Desirable, factory International 304ci V8 engine.

* Brand new, zero-mile General Grabber all-terrain tires just installed ($1,000 invested).

BODY & RUST CONDITION:
This truck is an honest, transparent project vehicle with an amazing natural patina. It will require rust maintenance, and patch panels installed on the lower body sections, typical for vintage Scouts. Floors and rocker areas need attention, but the core structure, frame, and removable hardtop provide solid foundation for a restoration or trail build of this extremely rare scout.

* Period-correct front utility bumper with vintage winch and plow assembly included. have plow as well.
* blacked-out period correct wheels that contrast great with the new white-letter 31x10.5x15 general grabber all terrain tires

This is the perfect opportunity to build a highly valuable, top-tier spec Scout 800B without dealing with a locked-up engine or hunting down rare trim pieces.

PRICE: $9999
LOCATION: Kanabec County, Mn

PROVENANCE & DOCUMENTATION:
* Sold with a legal Bill of Sale from a local public auction (clean paper trail).
* Has been stored off the road and out of the DMV system since 1986.

* Historical provenance documents included, mapping out the original purchasing dealership and first owner.
* Minnesota buyers: Safely qualifies for the standard MN DVS Bonded Title process due to age and auction documentation.

Before the bronco came the International Scout.
In the last twenty years, this piece of American history has gone from graveyard, to beach cruiser, to trails and ultimately off road. The scout has taken us to places most vehicles can't go, and made priceless memories. The Scout runs better than most family cars. It is now your turn to own a piece of American History.

Restoring a 1979 Scout II and have leftover parts. Hoping someone can use them. We will probably have additional parts as the restoration moves forward. Make offer.

1979 Scout - Leftover Parts

Since 37 years in the family is this Scout 800 that has been converted to a BMW six cylinder turbodiesel with automatic ZF transmission. Originally from San Bernardino California it has never suffered bad weather conditions or being used in the winter. Exceptional original body condition. Before converting it to the reliable and economical BMW turbodiesel I had for 20 years a 530 hp 406 Chevy in it and participated in a lot of 1/8 mile races. The last eight years I've been using it with an intercooled BMW with just 35,000 miles on it. It works perfectly with the ZF4 HP 22 transmission, has 150 hp on the dyno and being almost 200 kg lighter than the international drivetrain, it convinces with a pleasant driving experience. Send me an email and I can provide more pictures and a video of the Scout

Scout 800 with BMW turbodiesel drivetrain

I have 4 scouts and want to sell all 4 together. One has a plow.

4 Old scouts for sale

This 1970 International Harvester Scout 800 is finished in two-tone silver and blue over a blue vinyl interior and is equipped with a removable roof, a roof rack, a roll cage, fog lamps, and a digital media receiver. Power is provided by a rebuilt I6 engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

The truck underwent a repaint in Aristocrat-style silver with blue accents under previous ownership. The removable traveltop features sliding side windows and a stainless-steel roof rack and is underpinned by a full roll cage. Other equipment includes “Aristocrat” fender badges, Hella fog lamps, dual mirrors, a rear step bumper, and a ball hitch.

The truck rides on BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires wrapped around 15" rally-style chrome wheels.

The engine underwent a rebuild back in 2016 along with multiple other items getting replaced.

It was purchased off Bring A Trailer back in 2021 (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-international-harvester-scout-800-aristocrat/) and simply doesn't get used as much as it should, so it's time for the next owner. The web page is still there, so if you reach out, I'm happy to forward it along. I also have numerous recent photos I can provide you with.

1970 Scout 800

1979 International Scout II — $30,000 OBO

I’m selling my Scout II after more than 20 years of ownership. I’m the third owner, and over the years I’ve rebuilt, upgraded, or replaced nearly everything on the truck. This is a very reliable, well-sorted Scout that’s built to drive.

It starts every time, runs strong, and tracks straight at 75 mph. It recently completed a several-hundred-mile road trip without any issues.

Drivetrain / Suspension / Upgrades:

* Rebuilt 345 V8 with Quadrajet 4-barrel carb (~7k miles)
* TF727 automatic transmission
* Dana 300 transfer case with TeraLow 4:1 kit
* 4.56 gears
* Eaton E-lockers front and rear
* Chromoly front axles
* Spring-over conversion by Anything Scout
* Shackle reversal
* High steer conversion
* Hydroboost brake conversion
* Upgraded driveshafts
* 33-gallon poly-lined fuel tank
* Winch
* A/C converted to onboard air
* Soft top included
* Additional spare parts included

The frame and body mounts are solid. The Scout does have a few minor rust bubbles in places, but nothing structural. The gas gauge becomes inaccurate near empty.

It’s a dependable, capable Scout that can be driven anywhere and enjoyed immediately.

Clean title in hand.
$47,000 OBO.

This is a one-owner 1978 Scout II, V345 gas engine, 4-speed, 4x4. Purchased new by my dad in 1978, which he gifted to me in 2016. It’s been well maintained in original/highly original condition, with only 117,407 miles on the original engine. Since 2016 it’s had a carburetor rebuild (on the original carburetor), fuel pump replaced, fan clutch replaced, fuel pump gasket and valve cover gaskets replaced, fuel gauge sending unit replaced, a new power steering fluid line, and a new gas throttle cable (the one connecting the accelerator pedal). I also replaced the battery about six months ago. It’s been repainted twice over its lifetime to match the original factory color.

Rust issues are minimal. It’s had some body work in its history but nothing major—my dad has always been one to get on top of issues before they get serious. It had some rust removed/body work back in the late 1980s the first time it was repainted. And then some minor work again when repainted in the 2005-2010 timeframe. (See last set of photos in the posting for those areas.)

It spent the first 12 years of its life in Hawaii, and around 1990 was shipped back to the west coast where I used it for a few years in Washington. It was then kept in central Oregon and garaged until 2016, when I acquired it. The interior was re-upholstered a number of years ago to match the original and is still in like-new condition. Other than the first decade or so of its life, it also hasn’t had much off-road use. Mostly driven for commuting and city/highway driving. Thanks for looking!
