This is a one-owner 1978 Scout II, V345 gas engine, 4-speed, 4x4. Purchased new by my dad in 1978, which he gifted to me in 2016. It’s been well maintained in original/highly original condition, with only 117,407 miles on the original engine. Since 2016 it’s had a carburetor rebuild (on the original carburetor), fuel pump replaced, fan clutch replaced, fuel pump gasket and valve cover gaskets replaced, fuel gauge sending unit replaced, a new power steering fluid line, and a new gas throttle cable (the one connecting the accelerator pedal). I also replaced the battery about six months ago. It’s been repainted twice over its lifetime to match the original factory color.

Rust issues are minimal. It’s had some body work in its history but nothing major—my dad has always been one to get on top of issues before they get serious. It had some rust removed/body work back in the late 1980s the first time it was repainted. And then some minor work again when repainted in the 2005-2010 timeframe. It spent the first 12 years of its life in Hawaii, and around 1990 was shipped back to the west coast where I used it for a few years in Washington. It was then kept in central Oregon and garaged until 2016, when I acquired it. The interior was re-upholstered a number of years ago to match the original and is still in like-new condition. Other than the first decade or so of its life, it also hasn’t had much off-road use. Mostly driven for commuting and city/highway driving. Thanks for looking!
